Margaret Docherty is an independent Consultant and Trainer for Quality Management Systems and is also an Associate of Gupta Consultancy.

She holds qualifications in Nursing and Social Work and has worked extensively to senior management level in Health Care, Education and Social Services.

In 1992 she became Principal Officer in Norfolk Social Services where she was responsible for setting up and running the Registration and Inspection Unit for Children's Services under the Children Act 1989. This included writing and implementing the standards under the Children Act 1989 for children's homes, boarding schools and day care for children under eight years of age.

Over the last three years Margaret has acted as an auditor and lead auditor for an accredited certification body auditing ISO 9000:1994 and ISO 9001:2008. She is a Principle Registered ISO Auditor with the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) and is a trainer for the ISO 9001:2008 course as well as for other elements of quality management systems.
